Description:       The city of Cripple Creek was almost the capital of Colorado. During the Gold Rush days over 50,000 people lived in the District. Still in the shadow of the Gold Mine- Cripple Creek still has one of the most significant Gold Mines in America. The city was built and burned down twice- so it is now populated with 19th & early 20th century stone architecture. The city has legal gambling, but has not lost that ‘turn of the century’ feel.
